No one likes dry, flakey lips. I always make sure to scrub my lips regularly so that I can wear my favorite lip colors! I LOVE the feeling of my lips after using my lip exfoliant recipe. I feel it helps to circulate blood to the lips and gives them a nice tingle, and, it may be just me, but my lips look more full afterwards!
Here’s a quick DIY lip scrub you can whip up to take away those pesky flakes!
What you need:
Olive, or, coconut oil
Optional: Flavor extracts of your choice
1. Mix together 1tsp of sugar with 1tsp of the oil of your choice. Be careful not to over mix, as this can cause the sugar granules to dissolve too quickly. If that’s the case, add another pinch of sugar.
2. Once all of the ingredients are mixed, apply a quarter sized amount to lips and gently massage it on for about a minute. Wipe off with a damp, warm washcloth. Repeat the process if you still feel some flakes, but be extra gentle! Your lips may a bit more sensitive after the first time.
3. After you’re done scrubbing, put some lip moisturizer on.
That’s for a super simple and quick scrub. If you want to take things up another notch, try adding some flavor extracts, or even herbs and spices! Imagine putting in some vanilla or peppermint extract. The peppermint will help freshen your breath, and also give your lips a nice tingle, and possibly add more volume to your lips! Or try adding just some cinnamon. MMM… tasty.
Try making your own lip exfoliant, and let me know what you come up with!
